Every guitar used to record this song was an ultra el cheapo. The opening guitar figure is Ronnie playing a 1963 Sears Silvertone with an amp bult into the case! Cliff played slide using an old Harmony with missing strings. Steve use a Trutone with a massive metal pickguard! The bass was a Univox Mosrite copy.
Ronnie wrote the song based on a story Steve tells about visiting an uncle as a child and always getting in trouble for sneaking back to a bedroom to look at an old guitar that was in a case hidden under a bed. He would just look at it because if anyone heard him playing it, he'd get in trouble.
